DCLivingLab

FROM 20 TO 25 OCTOBER 2019 YOUNG PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD WILL GATHER IN BRABANT FOR THE 4TH EDITION OF DCLIVINGLAB. DCLIVINGLAB IS POWERED BY THE DISTRICTS OF CREATIVITY (DC) NETWORK AND OFFERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK IN AN INTERNATIONAL TEAM ON EXISTING SOCIETAL CHALLENGES. IT IS HELD DURING THE ANNUAL CREATIVITY WORLD FORUM.

THE 2019 EDITION WILL BE ORGANISED BY BRABANTDC IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ROTARY ‘S-HERTOGENBOSCH-WEST AND THE ROTARY INTERNATIONAL NETWORK.

EDUCATION AT ITS PUREST: DIVERSITY AND INTERACTION
All over the world young people have dreams about creating a society they want for their future. These dreams are similar yet different, and by combining those dreams the global and overall impact can be increased.

The key to greater impact is in diversity and interaction. From this year onwards, the aim is to widen DCLivingLab’s scope to a highly valuable international educational programme together with the Rotary Network. We are proud that for this 2019 edition we can cooperate with the Rotary Network; Rotary has comparable goals to DC Network but reaches a different and additional target group.

ABOUT CWF2019
The 2019 edition of the Creativity World Forum, DC Network’s flagship conference, will be held in Brabant! On 21, 22 & 23 October 2019 we aim to make Brabant – if only briefly – the most beautiful place on earth, together with creative thinkers and doers from around the world. The CWF2019 will be the place where you can meet changewanters and changemakers from all over the world. This multi-day international event about creativity and innovation is expected to bring together 1,500-2,000 professionals from various disciplines (creative sector, business, education, government, NGOs) and from all over the world.

UN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS
Our generation is the first to have the means to make the transformation to a world with more prosperity and less inequality, to protect the diversity of nature and the stability of our climate, to peace and security. In such a world, everybody can thrive, from individual to multinational. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are our ‘to-do-list’ for the world we want in 2030. They are a form of civilization, a common language to which we can all commit ourselves. This makes it possible to work better together on these goals.

All over the world global issues generate local challenges: how do we make the right choices today for a sustainable world tomorrow? Can we use high-tech solutions without widening the digital gap and social exclusion? How do we include migrants without losing their identity? What if we could reduce CO2 emissions while still traveling the world?

These are global issues, yet locally addressed in different ways from different perspectives. For DCLivingLab 2019 we invite young people to bring along their own local challenge and their own dreams for the future. During the exchange young people will work on 10 selected challenges together!
